ONS is the name layer inside WEIHR. It gives a person, collective, device, or service a stable handle, then binds that handle to approved identities such as a WEIHR identifier and a POP ~w wallet.

One ONS record may carry a primary WEIHR identity plus wallet, device, service, or later-generation identifiers. Every binding remains explicit.
Resolvable
Both directions
ONS answers “what identities belong to this handle?” and “which handle owns this identity?” without pretending the name itself proves ownership.
The starting relationship
A human account should begin with the identity basics and no invented hardware. A rig can be attached later when physical resonance evidence actually exists.

Read the handle-to-identity and identity-to-handle relationship through the registry.

Add a rig, service, or successor identity later without erasing the account's continuity.
Where ONS stands
This page restores ONS to its proper public home under WEIHR. Registry issuance remains controlled while account provisioning is unified, so a displayed ons:handle label must never be mistaken for a completed registry write.
